Wendy M. Bamberg, MD, founded Medical Epidemiology Consulting in 2019 as a one-woman solo consulting practice to support healthcare facilities when they are working with public health. When the COVID-19 pandemic began, Medical Epidemiology Consulting began applying that expertise to businesses, non-profits, organizations, and the community. Dr. Bamberg is a public health expert, epidemiologist, and board-certified infectious diseases physician who is happy to provide advice in any setting and location.

Most of my public health career focused on collaborating with healthcare settings to prevent the transmission of infections within healthcare. Little did anyone know how applicable those skills would be to each and every setting when COVID-19 resulted in the shut down and reopening of our society.

General consulting services include guidance when responding to outbreaks; development of protocols, plans, and guidance; interpretation of country, state, and local data; and providing communicable disease population health expertise. COVID-19-related services include customized re-opening strategies, assistance with determining response to cases and exposures, application of constantly changing regulations and guidance, and providing ongoing advice and support.

Dr. Bamberg is based in Denver, Colorado, USA. Medical Epidemiology Consulting serves clients across the United States and would be happy to serve clients around the world. Services can often be provided virtually, including visual assessments of infection control practices, but can also be requested in-person as needed.

It is the scientific methodology for looking at the health of a population. A medical epidemiologist is a person who studies epidemiology or applies epidemiological methods and is also a physician.
Fees are based on the nature of the organization (e.g., small nonprofit, government, large corporation), the public health importance and urgency of the work, the resources of the client, and the type of work involved. A percentage of the fees (5%) are donated to non-profit organizations. I am open to donating time to low-resource clients.
